Based on the graphic novel by the same name, 300 tells the story of, well, 300 Spartin worriers who, when thier homeland is threatend, stand against One Milion Persion soldiers. While being lossly based on a historical event, 300 is far too stylized to be in the same elk as other period pieces ( eg. The New World, Ben Hur ). Instead, think more 'Sin City - The Guns + Gladiator + A Little Smidgin Of The Matrix'.
Zack Snyder ( "Dawn of the Dead" ) directs a relitivly unknown cast of Gerald Butler ( "Phantom of the Opera" ), Lena Headly ( "The Brothers Grimm" ), David Wenham ( "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy" ), and Dominic West ( "The Forgotten" ).
Tyler Bates' score for the film is somewhat out of place, but still exellent.
Going into the theater, I didn't expect the film to be as visual as it was ( See screne shots below ). Even the credits were amazingly visual.
